Thomas is a four-time Expert Marksman with both the rifle and pistol in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He is also a gun owner and a sportsman.  Thomas will never vote for legislation that undermines the constitutional right to bear arms.

In Lansing, Thomas has voted on numerous pro-gun bills including allowing constitutional carry in Michigan and reducing fees for concealed pistol licenses.

Thomas is a strong supporter of the National Rifle Association and has received their endorsement in his three general elections for the Michigan House.
